THE new Oppo R9 is scheduled to hit stores in Singapore by the end of April. The Oppo R9 has the same metallic appearance of its predecessor, the R7, while shaving off a bit more weight. The R9 which measures 151.8 x 74.3 x 6.6mm, weighs 145gms.
The 5.5-inch AMOLED display is accompanied by a 1.66mm bezel. The R9’s 16 megapixel front-facing camera is its defining feature. It includes the new Hi-light Camera, which according to Oppo, allows it to capture more light in low light conditions.
The camera also includes a new Selfie Panorama feature for group photos and Beautify 4.0 app. According to Oppo, a large f/2.0 aperture increases the amount of light that enters the camera.
The R9’s Hi-light Camera is up to four times more sensitive than standard cameras, has twice the dynamic range and captures shots with four times less noise compared to cameras without the technology.
The R9 also includes a 13 megapixel rear camera. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 2.0GHz, eight-core, 64-bit processor which also comes equipped with the world’s first TrueBright image signal processor engine, for enhanced colour resolution and detail. The R9 also has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space, which can be expanded by an additional 128GB.
Oppo’s exclusive VOOC Flash Charge technology is included in the R9. It allows the phone to reach a 70% charge after just half an hour of flash charging.
The R9 will be available from April 30th for S$649 in Gold.
