It was a hectic night for the Malaysian mobile industry as four major mobile operators in Malaysia – Celcom Axiata Bhd, Digi.Com Bhd, Maxis Bhd and U Mobile Sdn Bhd, simultaneously launched the long-awaited iPhone 6s and 6s Plus at the stroke of midnight on Oct 16.

Customers were queuing up as early as 6pm on Oct 15 for the new Apple device. Some were there to collect their pre-ordered iPhone while others showed up to purchase their new device.

Maxis was the first mobile operator to roll out phone delivery operation on midnight in last November for the launch of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and the country’s largest mobile operator sort of did it again, this time for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

Between 12.01am and 11.59pm today, over 1,000 phones will be delivered to customers who pre-ordered their units.

Its head of consumer business Dushyan Vaithiyanathan said, “There’s nothing more satisfying than to have your iPhone delivered right to your doorstep, and fast.

"For us, it’s not just about the delivery speed but the experience that our customers have each time we interact with them, and  that includes having the best 4G experience with this iconic phone,” he added.
