Infinix Mobile enters Malaysia with three new models
- Hong Kong-based smartphone player enters crowded market with three offerings
- Top two models emphasise on photography while third set focuses on audio delivery
HONG Kong-based Infinix Mobile is taking a crack at the Malaysian smartphone market as it launched three of its latest smartphones - the Infinix Zero 4, Infinix Zero 4 Plus and Infinix HOT 4 Pro.
Infinix Mobility country manager for Malaysia Marco Beh was bullish on the company’s entry into South-East Asia betting on its range of smartphones that focus on quality, design and “cutting-edge” specifications.
Leading the charge is Infinix’s flagship phone the Zero 4 and its larger cousin the Zero 4 Plus. While the Zero 4 has a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display, the Zero 4 Plus has a larger 5.98-inch full HD IPS display. Both 2.5D curved displays have added protection by tempered third-generation Corning Gorilla Glass.
Targeted squarely at the photography crowd, the Zero 4 Plus has a 20.7-Megapixel rear and 13-Megapixel front camera. Meanwhile, the Zero 4 has a 16-Megapixel rear and 8-Megapixel front camera that Infinix says takes good looking high-resolution photos.
The company adds that the Zero 4 and Zero 4 Plus’ cameras benefit from optical image stabilisation (OIS) to prevent hand shake and enable low light shooting.
In terms of specifications, the Zero 4 is powered by an octa-core 1.3Ghz MediaTek MT6753 chipset while the Zero 4 Plus has a Deca-core 2.1Ghz Helio X20 (MT6797M) chipset. The phones will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Infinix’s customised XOS interface on top.
The Zero 4 and Zero 4 Plus also differ in that the former has 3,200mAh battery while the latter has a 4,000mAh battery.
If you are more of a music lover and all-around productivity-centric user then Infinix hopes its Hot 4 Pro will be more up your aisle.
With a 5.5-inch HD display the Hot 4 Pro has a smart fingerprint feature for securing it and with Dirac Stereo Widening feature it brings more depth to the device’s stereo speakers.
Camera wise it has a 13-Megapixel rear and 5-Megapixel front camera.
Infinix says the Hot 4 Pro’s 4,000mAh battery supports fast charging and is claimed to last up to two days without any recharge.
Pricing at US$225 (RM999), the Infinix Zero 4 is available in Lilac Grey while the Infinix Zero 4 Plus is available in the same colour with pricing to be announced in early April.
The Infinix Hot 4 Pro comes in Lilac Grey, Champagne Gold and Galaxy Blue, retails at US$135 (RM599).
