- More affordable than the Nova 2i
- Dual cameras on the rear with adjustable 'bokeh’ feature
HUAWEI has unveiled its latest Nova smartphone, the Nova 2 lite. Targeted at young users, the latest addition to the Nova lineup offers a FullView Display and dual rear cameras among other features.
The new model has a unibody design, available in black and blue, with a thickness of just 7.8mm. But the most notable feature of the Nova 2 lite is its 5.99-inch HD+ resolution (1,440 x 720) display that packs a big screen onto a compact body, offering a wider and more comfortable viewing experience.
Another star attraction of the Nova 2 Lite is its dual camera system on the rear that consists of a 13-Megapixel main camera and 2-Megapixel secondary one that adds an adjustable 'bokeh’ effect which can be refocused at will.
Flipping around to the front is its 8-Megapixel front camera with a selfie toning flash that is said to automatically detect the lighting on a subject’s face and produce a natural-looking selfie.
Adding to that, the Nova 2 lite also has a Face Unlock feature that Huawei says is powered by its AI facial recognition algorithms for added security and complements the usual fingerprint sensor
Interestingly, the Nova 2 lite is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor instead of the usual HiSilicon Kirin chipset that Huawei is known to include in its smartphones. Of course, it is running on Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0. It comes supported with 3GB of RAM, 3,000mAh battery and 32GB of internal storage.
The Nova 2 lite also features three card slots designed to support a primary and secondary SIM card as well as a microSD card up to 256GB in size.
The Huawei Nova 2 lite will be available from March 23 at RM799 at all Huawei Experience Stores and authorised resellers.
