Huawei brings its P10 range to Malaysia

HUAWEI’S P10 Plus and P10 were the flagship phones that ruled the headlines during last week’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

Surprisingly, Huawei is all ready to launch its full range of flagship phones in Malaysia just one week after its unveiling in Spain, the first market in the region to receive the phones.

At a launch event in Shah Alam on March 8, Huawei announced three variants of the P10 headlining with the P10 Plus, P10 and P10 Lite.

The P10 Plus and P10 continues Huawei’s partnership with camera company Leica as it will feature dual rear cameras (12-Megapixel colour and a 20-Megapixel monochrome camera) as well as new 8-Megapixel front camera that also has Leica’s touch.

The camera packs some nifty tricks to enhance the photo taking experience. Part of its repertoire of features include 3D facial recognition that intelligently analyses a scene to better expose portraits, optical image stabilisation, 4-in-1 hybrid autofocus, hybrid zoom and bokeh effects for that professional finish.

The P10 Lite on the other hand comes with a modest single 12- Megapixel rear camera.

The P10 features a 5.1-inch full HD display while the P10 Plus has a larger 5.5-inch 2K resolution display. Meanwhile the P10 Lite has a 5.2-inch display in full HD.

The top two models: the P10 Plus and P10 will sport Huawei’s own Kirin 960 Octa-core 2.4Ghz processors while the P10 Lite has a Kirin 655 Octa-core 2.1Ghz.

Storage wise Huawei has put a roomy 128GB of storage in the P10 Plus while the P10 and P10 Lite has 64GB and 32GB respectively.

The P10 Plus (3,750mAh) and P10’s (3,200mAh) batteries will feature Huawei SuperCharge fast charging. The P10 Lite has a 3,000mAh battery. It will use USB Type-C chargers.

Huawei says pre orders for the P10 Plus, P10 and P10 Lite start on March 23 while general availability will be on March 31.

Of the eight colours options announced during MWC only two colours are announced: Prestige Gold and Graphite Black. Huawei says that it will release additional colours of the P10 series of phones by May or June this year

As for pricing the P10 Plus, P10 and P10 Lite retail for RM3,099, RM2,499 and RM1,299 respectively.
