HotShotz 2017 winners receive RM220,000 in cash & prizes

THE winners of Malaysia’s eGames festival, HotShotz 2017 gathered at KDU University College, Glenmarie Campus on Aug 2 for a prize-giving ceremony, which saw the top three winners of three games titles win a combined total of RM70,000 in cash prizes, together with routers and a corporate sponsorship attachment with TP-Link, the Networking Partner for HotShotz, worth an estimated RM150,000 in total value.

“From the moment, we kick-started the first of our five qualifying rounds in May at Universiti Malaya and on to the two-day main event at KDU University College, the action has come fast and thick and we are super pleased to focus the limelight on our winners, all of whom are amateurs,” said DNA CEO Karamjit Singh.

“At the same time, while the eSports winners are recognised here, I also want to acknowledge the seven teams that took part in our PC Modding competition and the three winners: 30 Degree by Muhammad Abdurrahman in 1st place, Bloody Red by Safuan in 2nd and Silver Edge by Shahid in 3rd.

“They showed amazing passion, dedication and creativity in producing their works of art within the tight 1 ½ days they had to complete their creations. Well done!”

Also, despite HotShotz being an unknown name in the Cosplay world, the event brought together some amazing Cosplayers from Malaysia and Southeast Asia, with Karamjit expressing his deep admiration at the professionalism and passion of the cosplayers at HotShotz - Yugana Senshi Uon from Malaysia, Punipun from Indonesia, Lychiii from Philippines, and Onnies from Thailand.

Based on feedback from the community leaders of the seven games, one-hour before HotShotz officially started, DNA, the organisers, increased the prize money by 900% from RM1,000 per game to RM10,000 per game with winners receiving RM5,000, runners-up RM3,000 and 3rd place winners RM2,000.
