REMEMBER Nokia? Yes, there are Nokia branded smartphones being sold again under HMD Global. Now two of the newly-introduced Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 3 and 6, will be available through Digi.
The Android-based smartphones will come bundled on Digi’s Postpaid Plans with a 12-month contract. There is also a trade-in offer that gives customers an additional RM100 off the price of the devices when they sign up with the plan.
The Nokia 3 will be available starting July 6 for as low as RM199 via Digi Postpaid plan 78 with a trade-in. As the entry-level model of the Nokia series, the handset offers 4G LTE connectivity on a 5-inch HD display. For storage, it has built-in 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB in size. It also comes with an 8-Megapixel autofocus camera on the back and front.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Digi is offering the higher end Nokia 6 from the end of July for as low as RM479 via Digi postpaid plan 78 with a trade-in. The Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch full HD display with dual speakers and has 32GB of built-in storage. Like the Nokia 3, it comes with a microSD card slot that reads cards up to 128GB in size. For the camera, it has a 16-Megapixel rear and 8-Megapixel front camera.
Both phones come with Android Nougat and will have the MyDigi app preloaded to offer customers easy access to their account information and enable them to manage their Digi services.
Speaking about the new offering, Digi’s head of Postpaid, Benjamin Tan, said: “The rebirth of the Nokia brand is very exciting and something we’ve all been looking forward to. Digi is happy to be the first telco in the country to partner with HMD, the new home of Nokia phones.
