Asus has introduced a new addition to its mid-range line up with the ZenFone Max Plus M1. As the name denotes, the new Max Plus M1 is bigger in every way but kept at an affordable price tag of US$220.53 (RM899).

Despite keeping the form factor of a 5.2-inch smartphone, Asus managed to squeeze in a what it dubs as a FullView display. Fitting 5.7-inch screen with a HD (1,440 x 720) resolution within a smaller body, making up for an 80% screen to body ratio for that big screen viewing experience.

Packed into a premium feeling metal body, Asus claims the Max Plus M1 packs a lot of features. The phone offers both Face Unlock technology using the front camera and a fingerprint reader on the back for two options for security.

Spec-wise, you get a MediaTek Octa-core processor,  4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded up to 256GB. Asus is offering, even more, storage for users by bundling 100GB of Google Drive storage for one year.

Though it has a big 4,130mAh battery the phone manages to maintain keep the weight at just 160g.

Other features include a triple slot that accepts two SIM cards together and a separate microSD card slot for expanding the memory.

Camera-wise the Max Plus M1 has dual cameras on the back with a 16-Megapixel f/2.0 main camera and a secondary 8-Megapixel camera with a 120-degree wide-angle lens for capturing more scenery around you.

Asus also brought back it's Super Resolution mode that takes 5 burst images that are combined into a massive 64- Megapixel photo.

Flipping the phone around, you get a 16-Megapixel selfie camera with a wide 2.0 aperture for taking photos in low light.

Of course, the main talking point of the phone is its big battery. Asus claims that phone is able to last for 13 hours of video playback. Don't worry if you are low on battery, Asus claims the phone is able to recharge up to 3 hours of talk time with just 15 minutes of charging.

According to Asus, the ZenFone Max Plus M1 will be available via pre-order on Lazada Malaysia from Dec 14 - 19 2017. They are also a special rebate of RM200 off should customers trade-in a phone via their offline retail stores.
