Yahoo! launches ad products for digital, mobile marketers

- Mobile video, smart and targeted ads make debut
- Launched in Singapore, rolling out in other markets
DIGITAL media company Yahoo! has a new series advertising products that it says would bring tailored, targeted and interactive ads to South-East Asia.
The mobile-rich media, smart and targeted ads will leverage the Internet's real-time interaction and Yahoo!’s in-depth consumer insights to deliver innovative marketing campaigns across connected devices, it said in a statement.
Audiences are spending more time on phones and tablet devices consuming content; this offers marketers the opportunity to engage them through mobile advertising, Yahoo! said in a statement.
Claiming an audience of more than 200 million users [comScore, February, 2012] across the Asia Pacific region, Yahoo! believes its content properties provide the context to create engaging experiences.
Yahoo!’s rich media ad formats -- including streaming, expanding, floating, surveying, and wrapping units -- offer the most innovative digital advertising solutions, it said in its statement.
Clickable mobile video ads: Yahoo! offers a variety of mobile advertising opportunities and formats, including screen takeovers, expandable and iPad tap-to-video ads.
Clickable video ads have user cues that overlay an ad and encourage consumers to interact, including a click-to-site call to action that drives direct response performance, the company said.
Clickable video ads play pre- or post-roll within the video player window. They are easy and fast to execute and outperform traditional video ads by 3:1, it claimed.
Smart ads: Yahoo! smart ads can optimize each ad for each user so that marketers can drive their objectives, from awareness to conversion.
Targeted Ads: Powered by sophisticated modeling technology to meet advertisers’ complex business objectives and an unparalleled depth and scale of data, Yahoo!’s proprietary targeting algorithms help advertisers reach audiences based on interest and content consumed within Yahoo! across PCs and mobile devices.

Mobile video ads, smart ads and audience segmented targeted ads have been launched in Singapore and will be carried across the South-East Asian markets of Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam in the coming months.
