Mobile adtech company Glispa sets up office in SEA, appoints regional GM

GERMAN mobile marketing specialist Glispa Global Group has opened an office in Singapore and has appointed former Google executive and mobile marketing veteran Christian Nguyen as its South-East Asia general manager.
The company said it has been executing mobile advertising campaigns for South-East Asian clients since 2013, out of its headquarters in Berlin. The Singapore office will now serve as the headquarters for the region, where it sees opportunities for further growth, it said in a statement.
“Now is the perfect time to establish a permanent presence in the region, to further strengthen our roots there and continue to provide our South-East Asian clients with world-class service,” said founder and chief executive officer Gary Lin.
Glispa also has an office in Beijing to serve the Chinese market, as well as Bangalore in India.
The company supports global advertisers, app developers and publishers to achieve user acquisition and monetisation goals via programmatic advertising and marketing efforts.
It provides a full suite of technology-based solutions that tap into big data analytics, targeting over two billion mobile users worldwide.
Meanwhile, Nguyen previously held positions such as head of mobile (South-East Asia) at Google; head of brand sales at AdMob; as well as country sales manager at Microsoft.
He will use his indepth knowledge in mobile marketing to serve mature markets such as Singapore, hypergrowth m-commerce markets such as Indonesia, as well as the emerging mobile markets such as the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, Glispa said.
“South-East Asia is the next digital frontier with a major behavioural shift to a mobile-first society, and Glispa is well positioned to help brands and app developers capitalise on this phenomenal growth,” said Nguyen.
“With mobile advertising set to grow to half of all digital advertising by 2020, I’m thrilled to join Glispa to lead this growth regionally,” he added.
