WB Land and REDtone in Frontier Industrial Park pact

WB Land and REDtone have agreed on a partnership to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to the Frontier Industrial Park in Desa Cemerlang, in the southern Malaysian state of Johor, REDtone said in a statement.

This will see all factories in Frontier being broadband-ready through exclusive packages offered by REDtone, with speeds of up to 200Mbps, which the company claimed was the “fastest in the area.”

WB Land director Wong Yen Yap said that the partnership was in line with its aim to continually innovate and add value to businesses operating within Frontier.

“We want Frontier to be the No 1 choice for industrialists in Desa Cemerlang and we have consistently worked towards achieving this vision.

“In today’s borderless industrial world, having fast and secure Internet connection is as important as water and electricity, to facilitate real-time communication with business partners, suppliers and customers across the globe.

“This will result in quicker turnaround for businesses, higher productivity, and lower operational costs,” said Wong.

Through the partnership, WB Land will offer free 5Mbps broadband package to all factory owners and tenants at Frontier Industrial Park Phase 2 (Frontier 2) for one year.

The partnership will bring enormous benefits to all Frontier factories, said REDtone International Bhd group chief executive officer Lau Bik Soon.

“We know the stringent prerequisites of businesses and have taken the further step of providing every Frontier factory with an option of redundancy link.

“The difference with us is that our broadband is highly scalable to meet different business needs and we can offer speeds of up to 50Mbps on wireless connection and even up to 200Mbps on wired connection,” said Lau.

Frontier Industrial Park has a gross development value of RM600 million (US$168 million) spread across 136 acres of freehold land in Desa Cemerlang within the Iskandar Malaysia development hub.

It is being developed over three phases with overall project completion by July 2018.
