TM launches Shop in A Box solution for retailers

TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd (TM) has launched its Shop in A Box retail solution offering, which it claimed would enable retailers to increase productivity and thus profits by using bundled value-added services.

To introduce the solution, TM has lined up a series of on-ground marketing activities including a nationwide roadshow starting from Oct 1 called SME Mega Bazaar.

The roadshow will run in areas such as Pasar Siti Khadijah in Kelantan and Pasar Payang in Terengganu, TM said in a statement.

“With more than 70% of our SME customers coming from the retail industry, Shop in A Box offers them a number of service clusters such as payment and collection, market reach, customer experience and many more that will be unveiled from time to time,” said Azizi A. Hadi, executive vice president of TM’s SME business.

TM launched the Shop in A Box offering with payment and collection solutions, namely SurePay and SurePay Point of Sale (POS).

“The two services provide payment flexibility and convenience especially for small businesses in suburban areas. They also serves as a pulling factor to attract customers who prefer to go cashless,” Azizi said.

Eighteen selected TMpoint outlets across the country with designated SME (small and medium enterprise) Corners and SME Consultants will also showcase the SurePay devices, giving potential SME customers hands-on demonstration of the SurePay solution.

Powered by TM’s broadband connectivity, SurePay and SurePay POS payment solutions utilise the company’s TM Electronic Payment Gateway online payment system and TM Mobile Payment System.

SurePay enables businesses to receive payment through online channels either via credit or debit card, while SurePay POS uses a POS and payment solution that will allow merchants to accept cash, debit and credit card payments.

As an introductory promotion, TM announced a three-month waiver of the SurePay monthly fee for all subscriptions made from now until the launch date of Nov 30.

SurePay and SurePay POS are being implemented via TM’s partners ManagePay Services Sdn Bhd and Ebizu Sdn Bhd.
