Oracle rolls out enterprise mobility solutions in MalaysiaORACLE Corporation has released Oracle Fusion Middleware mobile solutions, which it said would help Malaysian organisations support their enterprise mobility strategies.

Malaysian companies are looking to expand their business and better engage customers via mobility, Oracle said in a statement.

“As the workforce is becoming more mobile, the need for enterprises to have their mobility strategy in place to ensure users are connected via any device to their enterprise applications, at any time, has become more critical,” said Oracle Fusion Middleware sales director for Malaysia, Chong Fook Hing (pic).

“Being able to access business information at their fingertips via mobile devices [means that] users can better accommodate customer requests,” he said at the launch in Kuala Lumpur recently.

According to Forbes’ mobile business statistics for 2012, more than 70% of organisations allow some sort of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) usage. However, less than 10% of them are fully aware of the devices accessing their network, Oracle said.

“Organisations find it challenging to support multiple devices, and to integrate enterprise applications and other existing systems with mobile channels. At the same time, they are also facing difficulties in securing corporation information, which remains the top concern for them,” said Chong.

“By giving organisations a huge choice of out-of-the-box mobile applications, as well as the option of leveraging Oracle’s Mobile platform to develop their own mobile applications, [we are] empowering organisations to support the modern mobile workforce,” he claimed.

Oracle’s strategy is to simplify enterprise mobility by providing a common Mobile Platform with integrated security for organisations, the company said.

“Integration is the key to a mobility strategy as it enables connections between the enterprise’s systems and applications, and to deliver intelligence to business users in a fast manner.

“The Oracle Mobile Platform is engineered to provide integration between mobile applications and back-end systems. With Oracle Identify Management, enterprises can enable seamless single sign-on to any application from any device,” said Chong.
