GetResponse sets its sights on Asean

POLISH-based Implix has officially launched its GetResponse email marketing platform in Asean, saying that the increasingly savvy use of email marketing in the region spurred the company to extend support for languages such as Bahasa Melayu, Chinese and Thai.

As a web-based service, GetResponse has always been available to users all over the world since its creation in 1998, Implix said in a statement.

“Email can be a powerful marketing tool, particularly for small to medium-sized businesses that don’t have the same budgets as large enterprises,” said its chief executive officer Simon Grabowski (pic).

“But it needs to be done right, and that means getting many separate elements right, from design, to device agnosticism, personalisation and yes, even language support.

“As we turned our attention to Asean, and the Malaysian market in particular, we knew we needed to put together a comprehensive package of services, with unparalleled levels of customisation to better meet the needs of a diverse group of Asian marketers,” he said told a media conference in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Over the last year, GetResponse has seen email-marketing activity in Asean grow 35.8% compared with the previous year.

Since support for Malay, Chinese and Thai languages was added earlier this year, Implix has seen a 41.6% increase in new account registrations – a promising sign for email marketing in the region, it said.
