DIGI Telecommunications Sdn Bhd has appointed Spring Creek as its social media agency of record, following a competitive pitch.
The appointment, which took effect in early June saw the IPG Mediabrands’ Malaysian social media brand analytics, strategy, and marketing services agency beat out seven other agencies who competed for the business, Spring Creek said in a statement.
DiGi’s head of Online Sales and Service, Ramesh Rajandran, said that Spring Creek was selected for its experience and creativity in developing measurable social media strategies.
“Their capability in delivering a long-term vision using social platforms was a key factor in the selection process,” he said.
The assignment will see Spring Creek responsible for leading DiGi’s social communications on several of its major platforms, specifically on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, with a mandate to further propel the telco in the Malaysian social space.
Commenting on the win, Gilad Coppersmith, senior vice president of Digital and Innovation Catalyst World Markets at Mediabrands Worldwide, said that it was a perfect partnership.
“Both parties want to go beyond conventional measurements of success and chart the way forward. With some of the best talent in social media who are pioneers in their own right, Spring Creek is poised to take DiGi to newer heights,” he added.
Coppersmith also said that both client and agency are eager to discover the essence of marketing and communications in the new age where each platform and communication moving forward rests on the fundamentals of what makes great marketing.
“Instead of simple regurgitation on these platforms, it is now the age of diversified ecosystem creation where advocates come alive. Great storytelling is behind every campaign and talent of both agency and client shines through in the harmony of working as one,” he said.
