LAZADA has launched LazPitch, the first undergraduate competition that invites young talents to develop and shape the future of e-commerce.
In a statement, the e-commerce player said the competition offers the next generation of e-commerce talents the opportunity to conceptualise an e-commerce campaign and strategy.
Cash prizes will be won by top three teams with the first prize team winning USD$5,900 (S$8,000) and internship placements at Lazada, to fast-track their e-commerce careers, it said.

Winning teams will also see their plans executed, culminating in a nationwide roll-out in Singapore, the company said.
“Lazada is always on the hunt for ambitious, creative talents who share our passion for online retail. By focusing on youth, we want to nurture upcoming talent and tap into ideas that can help us redefine what online shopping experience looks like, thus paving the way for the future of commerce,” said James Chang, chief executive officer (CEO) of Lazada Singapore.
Lazada said through LazPitch, Lazada aimed at inspiring e-commerce leaders of tomorrow to shape the shopping experience for future consumers.
Alongside Lazada’s innovative blend of online retail, entertainment, live streams, and online-to-offline experiences, LazPitch participants will benefit from developing their skills through hands-on e-commerce mentorship with Lazada leaders, it claimed.
The top 10 entries will be presented before a judging panel, where they will be shortlisted to five finalists.
The teams will then undergo a workshop on how to successfully roll out their campaign across Lazada’s website, app and digital channels in Singapore.
LazPitch is open from now until Aug 15 to groups of four undergraduates aged under 25 and from the same Singapore Universities from all subject disciplines.
