DATA protection and information management company Commvault has announced the appointment of Owen Taraniuk (pic) as vice president of its Asia Pacific and Japan region.
Responsible for leading and driving growth in the company’s recently launched next-generation solutions portfolio, including the Commvault Data Platform, he brings 25 years’ experience in the technology solutions industry, the company said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to have Owen [Taraniuk] on board, given his strong leadership, vision, and targeted experience in the information content technology space that will help foster an innovation-based culture in our expanding Asia Pacific team,” said Ron Miller, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales.
“He comes at a time of unprecedented opportunity for Commvault, particularly in the Asia Pacific region with key emerging markets, burgeoning strategic alliances, and technology development hubs,” he added.
Taraniuk has held a number of senior leadership positions for multinationals across EMEA (Europe/ Middle East/ Africa) and Asia Pacific, including Kofax Inc, Open Text Corp, Groupe Inova, and ABS Group.
He was most recently the vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan for EMC2 Corporation, Enterprise Content Division.
Having joined in late October 2015, Taraniuk has already launched a transformation programme which will see a realignment of the company’s sales functions and partner engagement model, Commvault said.
“Commvault is going through a major transition,” said Taraniuk.
“There is huge change in the market in which we operate, including competitive disruption, a shift in CIO (chief information officer) conversations, and new opportunities for strategic alliances.
“This places us in an enviably strong position for growth. Our planned realignment programme will enhance our customer coverage at a regional level and deepen our engagement and enablement of partners,” he added.
