ST TELEMEDIA Global Data Centres (STT GDC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ST Telemedia, recently announced the addition of three colocation facilities (named STT Tai Seng) in Singapore following the completion of the second phase of its strategic joint venture partnership with Tata Communications.
Since the launch of both its Singapore data centres, STT Defu and STT MediaHub, the global carrier neutral operator has seen strong market demand.
With the addition of STT Tai Seng, STT GDC is one of the largest and geographically-diverse data centre companies in Singapore, operating five facilities totalling over 540,000sq ft in different areas across the country.
STT GDC CEO Bruno Lopez said, “Singapore is our home market and we are encouraged and excited to see very strong market demand. With its interconnectivity and world-class infrastructure, Singapore is a key IT and innovation hub for Asia and the world. We anticipate continued strong demand for data centres driven by services like cloud computing and digital media.
“Singapore is a major centre in our data centre network connecting key global economic hubs. STT GDC remains committed to deepening our presence here as we continue on an accelerated global expansion path.”
“We are also on track in our plans to become a major global platform of advanced, integrated and carrier-neutral data centres in high growth markets. Through our market leading businesses such as Tata Communications Data Centres in India, GDS Services in China and Virtus in UK, we will continue to expand our data centre network to meet our customers’ needs, today and in the future. Our best-in-class facilities deliver fully redundant, highly scalable and secure solutions to some of the largest and fastest growing global enterprises and cloud companies.”
Since August 2014, STT GDC has expanded through both organic growth and via acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
It has built a presence in key markets and currently manages a portfolio of 45 data centres across major economic centres in Singapore, India, China and the United Kingdom.
In the past nine months, STT GDC has brought two new data centre facilities to market in Singapore, completed the joint venture partnership in India with Tata Communications and launched an IPO for GDS Services on the Nasdaq.
