FOR 24 hours on Sept 9, Shopee reached a five-fold increase in orders during its 9.9 Mobile Shopping Day, the biggest mobile shopping festival in South-East Asia (SEA) and Taiwan.
Across the region, 25,000 sellers participated in this event and overall traffic increased by three times, compared to any previous day.
Top sellers saw an increase in orders up to over 200 times and one buyer purchased the highest number of items for the day, ordering a total of 151 items.
Shopee also garnered more than four million live chats regionally and 8.5 million total reach on the main social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
KC Neoh, owner of ishopee88 store, experienced a 1006% surge in orders on this day.
"I’ve been told about the campaign by the Shopee team a month ago and they prepped me through Shopee University and constant guidance to ensure I had enough stocks, branding and other important matters. Shopee 9.9 was an eye opener because not only in terms of sales we grew but in every aspect as an entrepreneur,” said Neoh.
Amalia, owner of the Cocaby store said that orders increased by five times on 9.9. Thanks to Shopee’s support with logistics and 24 hours customer service for 9.9, both her sales and order processing on the platform went very smoothly.
