Mike Ansley to head Asia Pacific ops for AvayaAVAYA has announced the appointment of Mike Ansley (pic) to lead its business across the Asia Pacific region.

He brings to the company a very strong track record for achieving significant results in leadership roles across the communications industry, Avaya said in a statement.

He replaces Mike Muller, who is leaving Avaya to pursue other opportunities.

Ansley was most recently vice president of Business Markets at Cisco in Canada, responsible for managing advanced technologies, verticals, and architecture teams for data centre and collaboration.

He also held various international senior management positions including Worldwide Sales Strategy, Advanced Technology Marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Voice Technology Marketing in EMEA.

Ansley was previously vice president and general manager for EMEA at 3Com/ HC3, during which time he turned a financial loss to profitability in large enterprise accounts, driving five consecutive quarters of revenue and margin contribution growth, Avaya said.

“Mike [Ansley] is a recognised leader in the industry, with a fabulous track record for achieving significant results around best-in-class business and sales practices,” Pierre-Paul Allard, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales, and president of Global Field Operations, at Avaya.

“He brings with him more than 20 years of rich experience ranging across executive sales leadership, partner strategy, services, engineering, and marketing,” he added.

Ansley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto.

He has recently relocated to Singapore and his responsibilities will cover South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Japan and Korea.

“Now more than ever, listening to the voice of our customers is the key to success,” said Ansley.

“I am very excited to be joining a company with Avaya’s heritage, engagement solution portfolio, market opportunity and vision at this unique time in our industry's history – and to driving growth in the wonderfully vibrant Asia Pacific market,” he added.
