Microsoft delivers three new products for Indonesia

MICROSOFT launches three innovative solutions for Indonesia at the Microsoft Industry Summit 2017 on Nov 15. The three new products are Microsoft 365, Azure Stack, and Microsoft SQL Server 2017.

The tech giant is committed to helping the digital transformation journey of multi-sector businesses in Indonesia.

“Our mission is to empower every person and every organisation in Indonesia to achieve more, transform business models, and reinvent value in the fast-changing world,” said Microsoft Indonesia chief operating officer Linda Dwiyanti in a statement.

As mobile and cloud technology continue to advance, one of the most important aspects in Indonesia’s digital transformation journey is to enable people to work anywhere and at any time, securely.

To meet this trend, Microsoft 365, a solution that includes Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security was launched to empower organisations in Indonesia to work on secure platforms, while streamlining IT management with a single solution and purpose-built for businesses.

Further, as an extension of Azure, Azure Stack was introduced with its agility and fast-paced innovation of cloud computing to on-premises environments, enabling a hybrid cloud platform service, which helps businesses to optimise operations and to maximise value.

Telkom Telstra and CBN are two early adopter partners in Indonesia providing solutions to customers using Azure Stack.

Another solution launched was Microsoft SQL Server 2017, a relational database management system developed to optimise operation and storage management for businesses, which can be accessed through Windows, Linux, and Docker that encryption features that conceal sensitive data, and Row-Level Security which control access to database rows.

Digital transformation trend

According to the Microsoft Asia Digital Transformation report, 90% of business leaders in Indonesia believe that they need to transform into a digital business to enable future growth, and yet only 27% said that they have a full digital strategy in place today.

“The three innovative solutions are expected to provide intelligent secure solutions to empower employees,” adds Linda.

She also says that aligning goals together with providing education for employees are challenges for a company that wants to transform with the help of technology.

“As one of the companies that succeeded in digital transformation, we see a similarity in companies around the world now. They need to adopt digital transformation and apply it with the right business strategies,” she explains.

The report also shows that digital transformation has to engage customers, empower employees, optimise operations, and transform products and business models.

“As the rise of digital technologies continues to bring tremendous opportunities, it’s important to address the changing employee and customer expectations, knowledge and skills, and the tools they use as well in order to pivot in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
