- Offering meets growing demand from early adopters in various industries
- GPUaaS enables rapid, cost-effective deployment of high-performance processing
Maxis, Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, will offer cloud-based Graphics Processing Units-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) to Malaysian customers. As part of its business cloud and managed services portfolio, GPUaaS provides businesses with easy access to powerful GPUs for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) training and inferencing applications.
In a statement, Maxis said that GPUaaS is a cost-effective way for customers to quickly deploy high-performance capabilities essential for intensive processing workloads such as AI, machine learning, and deep learning. GPUaaS eliminates the need for businesses to invest in costly GPU hardware or maintain complex infrastructure.
It added that at launch, the service will be powered by NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU clusters. Through this solution, Maxis will also be among the world’s first telcos to offer services deployed using NVIDIA’s next-generation GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips.
With scalable computing power available on-demand through GPUaaS, customers can allocate more time and resources to their core business activities and accelerate the development of Generative AI, large language models, and AI workloads. This offering caters to the growing demand among early adopters across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics. Additionally, customers can accelerate growth and innovation by accessing GPU clusters through existing fixed or 5G mobile connections.
Goh Seow Eng (pic), CEO of Maxis, said: “We are pleased to be the first telco in Malaysia to provide GPUaaS, enabling high-performance computing and data processing on demand. Businesses will have the flexibility to scale their resources when needed for more complex workloads such as AI, machine learning, 3D modelling, and large-scale analytics.”
“As Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, we will continue to make it simpler for customers to leverage the best of connectivity and digital solutions so they can focus on growing their business,” he added.
Singtel and Bridge Alliance, a leading mobile alliance of 35 member operators worldwide, recently announced a strategic partnership that brings Singtel’s GPUaaS offerings to enterprises across the region. Maxis, as a Bridge Alliance member operator, has made the strategic decision to leverage Singtel’s offering, which complements its own extensive cloud and connectivity solutions, enabling customers to obtain the solutions needed to meet their organisational needs.
