CelcomDigi Berhad has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) and ZTE (Malaysia) Corporation Sdn Bhd (ZTE), reinforcing its commitment to building Malaysia’s future digital network. These strategic collaborations will harness advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and next-generation connectivity technologies to enhance digital experiences and support the nation’s transformation into a 5G-AI-powered digital society.

CelcomDigi and Huawei Malaysia will establish an AI-powered fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) network, integrating cutting-edge technologies to enhance connectivity while strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure. The collaboration will explore Huawei’s latest innovations, including:

  • AI-driven solutions for intelligent automation and network optimisation, accelerating digital transformation.
  • Net5.5G to build high-performance, future-proof IP networks for increasing data demands and low-latency applications.
  • F5.5G to enhance fibre connectivity, ensuring ultra-fast, high-capacity broadband for homes and businesses.

Meanwhile, CelcomDigi and ZTE will integrate AI technologies into telecommunications infrastructure to enhance connectivity, empower businesses, and support national digital initiatives. This collaboration will explore AI-driven solutions such as:

  • New Calling, an AI-powered communication experience that transforms traditional calls into interactive, intelligent voice and video interactions.
  • Intelligent Deep Packet Inspection for smarter network traffic management, improving security, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Intelligent Operations & Maintenance, using AI-powered predictive analytics for automated network monitoring and seamless connectivity.

These MoUs reaffirm CelcomDigi’s role as a key enabler of 5G-AI-powered digital connectivity, bringing world-class technologies through strategic partnerships to drive an intelligent, future-proof digital ecosystem.

The MoUs were signed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, by CelcomDigi’s deputy CEO, Albern Murty; Huawei Malaysia’s CEO, Simon Sun; and ZTE Malaysia’s managing director, Steven Ge, witnessed by the deputy minister of communications, Teo Nie Ching.

Albern Murty said: “Our collaboration with Huawei Malaysia and ZTE marks a step towards an AI-driven, high-performance digital ecosystem that benefits consumers, businesses, and the nation. Simon Sun from Huawei Malaysia added: “Huawei Malaysia is evolving beyond an ICT solutions provider to a collaborative architect of AI-driven networks. Implementing the AI-powered FMC network with CelcomDigi will unlock substantial home and enterprise value, integrating AI capabilities across all layers of fixed networks.”
