Brocade names Harry Chung as APAC software solutions director

• Joins from Oracle, where he was director for communication product sales
• Brocade transforming itself to become a pure-play networking company

 
BROCADE Inc has announced the appointment of Harry Chung (pic above) to the role of software solutions director in its ‘Asia Pacific Japan’ (APJ) region.
 
He will be responsible for driving the business and technical development of Brocade’s software networking portfolio across APJ, the company said in a statement.
 
Based in Singapore, he will report to Matt Kolon, APJ vice president and chief technology officer.
 
“Harry’s [Chung] credentials in software solutions will come in handy as we help our customers digitise their businesses,” said Kolon.
 
“We look forward to leveraging his experience as an important asset for our regional technology team,” he added.
 
Bringing more than 20 years of technology leadership and business development experience to Brocade, Chung joins from Oracle, where he was director for communication product sales.
 
He joined Oracle through the acquisition of Acme Packet and previously spent 12 years at Cisco where he held various business development and technical marketing positions for the service provider and mobile markets in Asia Pacific.
 
“I am thrilled to join Brocade at this historic moment as it transforms itself to become a pure-play networking company, with comprehensive solutions that extend from the heart of the data centre to the network core and edge,” said Chung.
 
“Software is clearly the future of networking, and Brocade is fully committed to it,” he added.
 
Chung holds a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
