ALCATEL-Lucent said it has appointed Ichwan F. Agus (pic) as the new country senior officer for Indonesia, with the appointment effective on April 1, 2015.
Ichwan joins Alcatel-Lucent from PT Cisco Systems, where he was a customer account director. In more than 17 years at the company, he held a number of senior management positions and established strong working relationships throughout the ICT (information and communications technology) industry in Indonesia.
This included participating in the building of the country’s national ICT plan, and presenting at national technology conferences and universities, Alcatel-Lucent said in a statement.
Ichwan attended the Institute of Technology in Bandung from 1989 to 1994. During this time he spent two years at the Inter University Centre for microelectronics, where he cofounded the Computer Network Research Group, and led a project to build the first national IP (Internet Protocol) backbone using packet radio technology to connect six universities across six cities in Indonesia.
“I am very pleased to welcome Ichwan to the team,” said Stuart M. Hendry, executive vice president, South-East Asia (East), Alcatel-Lucent.
“The large and vibrant Indonesian market holds great opportunities for Alcatel-Lucent and his unique and extensive experience in the ICT industry will help us to reinforce and expand our presence here.
“Additionally the insight Ichwan has gained from working on the national ICT plan will be invaluable as we continue our support for the Indonesian Broadband Plan,” he added.
