Windows Store opens for developers
With the upcoming global launch of Windows 8 on October 26, Microsoft has opened up its built-in application marketplace – Windows Store – to an additional 82 markets around the world.

Asia Pacific personal computer shipments totaled 30.3 million units in the second quarter of 2012, a 2.6% decline compared with the same quarter in 2011, according to Gartner. The most notable decline came from China’s PC market at 5.4%, marking its first year-on-year negative growth ever.

Microsoft has announced the availability of the Windows Upgrade Offer for consumers purchasing a new Windows 7 PC, where they have the option to purchase a downloadable upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for an estimated retail price of US$14.99. In Malaysia, the company also announced that SMB customers who upgrade to Windows 7 on Open License with Software Assurance will enjoy a 30% discount.
