SoftwareONE in IBM software pact with ECS Pericomp

• Strengthens portfolio with full suite of IBM software
• Collaborating with ECS Pericomp for last-mile delivery to enterprise market

SOFTWARE portfolio management services provider SoftwareONE said it has strengthened its solutions portfolio in Malaysia with the addition of IBM’s full suite of software.
 
Stans, Switzerland-headquartered SoftwareONE’s Malaysian unit, SoftwareONE Experts Sdn Bhd, will also collaborate with ECS Pericomp Sdn Bhd – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysian ICT distributor ECS ICT Bhd – for the last-mile delivery to enterprises nationwide.
 
In a statement, SoftwareONE said it is one of IBM’s few Software Value Partners (SVPs) in Malaysia which has full access to the entire range of IBM solutions, covering information management, business analytics, collaboration, security, WebSphere, cloud and smarter infrastructure, and more.
 
“We are proud to be entrusted with the full range of IBM software,” said Raphael Erb (pic above), Asia Pacific vice president for SoftwareONE.
 
“IBM is world-renowned for spearheading ICT initiatives of the future, including cloud computing and big data – the buzzwords of today. The addition of IBM solutions into our portfolio is certainly timely, as corporations become increasingly receptive to adopting cloud computing for added scalability and mobility, amongst other benefits.
 
“This portfolio expansion places us in a strategic position to capture future demand through our comprehensive Software Portfolio Management services,” he added.
 
IDC estimates that the big data market in Malaysia was valued at US$18 million (approximately RM56.7 million) in 2013. With data production on the rise, IDC forecast the big data market would grow 32.1% per annum.
 
IDC also noted increased awareness and early adoption of cloud-based services amongst corporations, which will also contribute to higher data traffic going forward.
